As a kid, my family moved around the country a lot because my dad was in the military. But Kirksville is the longest I’ve ever lived in one place. I went to school here; met my wife here; we were married in Faith Lutheran Church just down the road. After three years overseas, we moved back in 2005. This is our hometown. Someday it will be our kids’ hometown.
I’m on staff as web manager at Truman State University. I originally created this website as a source for my take on local politics after I was elected to the Kirksville City Council. I served for 3 years – one year as councilman-at-large, one as mayor pro-tem, and one as mayor. I did not run for re-election in 2011 so I could focus on my newest business venture, Pickler’s Famous.
If you’re looking for info about Kirksville, the city website has all your answers, so I would encourage you to visit there first for the latest news, and also to subscribe to the many updates you can get there.
I’ll continue to post random items of local interest to me on these pages. Go Kirksville!
